Phosphate Buffer With Ammonium Sulphate Why Can't Ammonium Sulfate Be Directly Added To A Phosphate Buffer?

Why can't ammonium sulfate be directly added to a phosphate buffer? - phosphate buffer with ammonium sulphate

Why not ammonium sulfate ((NH4) 2SO4) was directly titrated into a buffer of 15 mM phosphate pH 7.5 with KOH KH2PO4?

  1. Personally, I like it and my research on purification of proteins, and the only problem I see with this is a release of large quantities of gases NH3, which is quite annoying. Phosphate buffer range is fairly broad and allows buffering salt, even at high concentrations. And ammonium sulfate is highly soluble in a dilute solution of phosphate.
